HUT-2D is an L-band aperture synthesis radiometer developed in Helsinki University of Technology, Laboratory of Space Technology. It has been designed as a demostrator for MIRAS instrument of ESA’s Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission scheduled for launch in 2009. This paper describes a soil moisture measuring experiment with HUT-2D.
